I am so grateful to the people of New York for their support and confidence. And I know this would not have been possible without the strong commitment of my supporters online. Today I'm celebrating not just my victory, but victories for other Democrats in New York and all over the country. Americans chose a new direction for the nation when they elected a Democratic majority in the House and quite possibly the Senate, and now I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues in Congress to get those changes underway. A big part of our victory in Congress came here in New York, where Mike Arcuri, Kirsten Gillibrand, and John Hall won seats currently held by Republicans. I am so excited that these seats in New York were such a crucial part of our victory in taking back the House, and so pleased that you did so much to support them. In addition to winning back Congress, Democrats won big in state races in every region of the country, taking control of a majority of governors' mansions.
