Chapter III. WHY THE EUROPEAN UNION SHOULD ALSO BE CALLED; "THE NEW ROMAN EMPIRE OF THE WEST". (“Project 666” by Michel Smiely “666”) The European Union represents, is and constitutes a political, economic and military power, without precedent in the world. Therefore, as it is a power in all aspects, therefore, it is necessary to define said power. What name can and should be used to define that Power?. To call it the United States of Europe is not Only incorrect but also an aberration. The Europe of The countries of the Common Market or “European Union”, can never be compared to the famous “independent states” which make up the American Union, neither in the political, cultural, economic nor Military order. This is so, because of the great Backwardness of the United States of America in all Aspects, compared to a Unified Europe. Therefore, the new European Unity can not be called “United States of Europe”. Thus, one must look into the essence of European History itself, in the sublime ideals of its prominent Thinkers and in the greatest dreams of its outstanding conquerors, an identification that is a combination of what the entire history of East Europe has been, up to date, and which may, at the same time unite its major goals and greatest ideals. In analysing that entire history and searching for a relation and answer to this problem, we find that all “Roads Lead to Rome” and that in the existence of the Old Roman Empire, we find the image capable of reflecting what that New Unified Europe is and what it will represent in 1992, -a power-, a new empire superior even to Rome itself.

Therefore we have taken out from the roots of European History itself, the name with which that United Europe which in 1992 is going to officially form the European Common Market. We propose that this Unified European be defined and called: THE NEW ROMAN EMPIRE OF THE WEST. As of 1992, all countries of the European Common Market should be called the "NEW ROMAN EMPIRE OF THE WEST" because: They have the power and strength of an empire, since the political, economic, military and cultural resources of the unified Western Europe are without compare. The countries of the European Common Market represent the greatest dreams and goals of an empire. A unity achieved, not through brief military victories that not resist the importance of historical transformations, but rather through the necessity of finding solutions to common problems and of sharing the benefits thereoin. Or, because: That European Unity, without precedent, is the product of the intelligence and common sense to which that same Europe which has been desvasted by two world wars has gotten to, in planning today its future and deciding its destiny, without the need to resort to or use military channels. They constitute an Empire since the unification of the countries of the European Common Market represents and unites the worlds must powerful social forces, governed by common laws, by the determinations of the European Parliament, by economic regulations which benefit all its members equally -to cite examples- and by the capacity all this provides to create a New International Economic Order and with it, a real power capable of changing the world and bringing mankind a development and progress without precedent. Therefore, we believe that after 1992, the countries of the European Common Market (The European Union), should be called the "New Roman Empire of the West" and that no other name can better explain what that unified Europe represents and what is going to be.
