of our rebellious America.

FREE
I am free! free! free!
suddenly woke up shouting,
for to understand liberty
had been only a dream
forged into chains,
walls and iron bars
divided up,
onto a cold floor
with solitude and silence
which constitute
in his world
days, nights and dawns
weeks, months and years…
Dreams of a condemned,
and “antisocial”
and of rebel
and of so many others, that also
had been condemned

by those
repressive forces
that join uselessly
in perpetuating
the ignorance of liberty
of justice and right
I am free! free! free!
shouted again that man, himself
locked up
behind the bars,
walls and grills
with consciousness
of those
could only imprison
his body
but never deprive him of liberty,
his conscious and rebellious spirit.
